“Functional Randi” is the nickname that my boyfriend calls me when I am showing up to work and being productive, when I’m emotionally stable, paying my bills on time, keeping my house clean, getting the laundry done, getting groceries, and lastly, parenting my teenagers without losing my mind. Whew…I’m exhausted all ready! I love it when I am Functional Randi and not curled up in a ball with the covers over my head.
Functional Randi is who I aim to be all the time. I’m a therapist with over 25 years in the field and I am a self proclaimed self-help junkie. I’ve scoured all the books about living a purpose filled life, being resilient in the face of adversity, uncluttering my life, being alright with being “good enough” and hundreds of books on learning to cope with anxiety and depression.
I hope to teach a course this year on “Living Your Best Life” and am planning on sharing all of the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years, in order to help others live the life they dream of. In my blog, I will be sharing my stories about parenting, work, relationships, mental health, and struggles with wellness- both physical and mental. I hope that by authentically sharing my story and successes along side with my fears, failures and mistakes, that I can help you look at tackling life’s challenges and becoming your best self.
